Frequently asked questions

What is Pipetionary?

Pipetionary is an offline piping reference app for pipe dimensions, fittings, flanges, valves, technical terms, and engineering calculators.

Do I need an account or internet connection?

No. Pipetionary requires no account, and its reference data and calculators are designed to work offline. Optional diagnostics and store links require network access.

What standards does the app reference?

The app includes ASME-traceable reference data for common pipe, fitting, flange, and valve workflows, including ASME B36.10M, B36.19M, B16.5, B16.9, B16.10, and B16.11 data surfaces where applicable.

Can I switch units or languages?

Yes. Open Settings to switch between metric and imperial units, choose app language, and configure dictionary language preferences.

What calculators are included?

Pipetionary includes hydrotest volume, head loss, and ASME B31.3 wall thickness helper calculators for quick field and design checks.

Can Pipetionary replace an engineering design review?

No. Pipetionary is a reference and preliminary calculation aid. Verify final decisions against project specifications, applicable codes and standards, manufacturer data, operating conditions, and qualified engineering judgment.
